Fishing safaris
All fishing safaris include guide, boat driver, fishing equipment, overalls and clothes. You can also have an interpreter when needed.
Example of the casting safari
Arrival at 9 am at villa Ruhtinas. You can leave your luggage and we will equip you with fishing clothes. At 10 o'clock we head for the sea with Seastar-fishing vessel. On the way we have coffee and salmonsandwiches. After half an hour we arrive to a special spot where we will change for smaller casting boats. You can reach easily the best spots near the rocks. The usual catch is perry and pike fish. After couple of hours we move back to Seastar and head for fishermen's drum nets to see the really big ones. While watching fishermen at work you can have a marine style meal. We return to the harbour in the evening.
Pikeperch trolling
The best season is in the beginning of June. For pikeperch we use smaller trolling boats. Hot luring spots are nearby our harbour.
Salmon trolling
The season lasts from May to July. Best spots are on the open sea. Recommended size of your group is up to six person but the safari can be done in a group of ten people and over.
Luring the sea trout
The season lasts from September to December. Best spots are near the rocks and reefs of the open sea. Fishing by casting or by trolling.
Pike fishing
The best fishing season is right after spawning time in spring and early summer. Usually catching by casting.
Line fishing
The line fishing trips are usually done by the archipelago of Ahvenkoski bay. Especially recommended for families and beginners.
Winter season
In winter time you can try ice fishing or traditional fishing with fykes and nets. The catch and spots alternate with the ice condition. Middle- and late winter you can do safaris by hydrocopter and hiking. Along with fishing you can explore the world under the ice with a divingrobot. After the day out we can have fish by the fire on the shore of the island.
Guides
The guides are Ben Henriksson and Veli-Matti Sippala. For salmon safaries we have top specialists as guides.
